What to bring to a shelter
If you're planning to ride out the storm at a hurricane shelter, here's what you lot need to bring:
- Cots or air mattresses and bedding — beds are non provided
- Clothing for 3 days and sturdy shoes
- Hygiene items
- A 2 week supply of all medications
- For those with dietary restrictions, plenty food for three days
- Puzzles, games, books and other amusement items
Those bringing animals to a pet-friendly shelter should bring proof of vaccinations, a leash, crate and enough food and supplies for their pets.
